What is Terrafoam HS?

Terrafoam HS is a high-strength expanded polystyrene insulation designed for applications where both thermal performance and compressive resistance matter. Manufactured as a rigid, closed-cell EPS board, it is used where insulation must perform under higher loads while maintaining stable long-term R-value and dependable moisture resistance.

In general Terrafoam HS has excellent resistance to freeze/thaw cycles. With low moisture absorption and the insulation R-Value increasing as temperature decreases, this product an alternate to competitive Hi-40/60/100 and Formular 400/600/1000 XPS products found in the market.

DESCRIPTION / BASIC USES

Terrafoam HS30 Closed cell high compressive strength expanded polystyrene (EPS) rigid insulation.

Below grade applications:
• Perimeter insulation for grade beams and foundation walls.
• Insulation under concrete slabs.
• Frost protected shallow foundations and snow melt systems.
Above grade applications:
• Continuous insulation for wall construction assemblies.
• Cavity wall and masonry construction assemblies.
• Coolers, freezers, and ice arenas.

Terrafoam HS Technical Data

Thermal Resistance at 24°C (75°F): R-4.27 to R-4.30 per inch

Available Grades: HS-25, HS-30, HS-40, HS-60, HS-80, HS-100

Compressive Strength: 25 psi, 30 psi, 40 psi, 60 psi, 80 psi, 100 psi

Water Absorption: 1% to 2%
